Questions

The honest FAQ.

No hype — here's what creatine does, who it's for, and where the science stands.

Creatine basics

What is creatine?

Creatine is a compound your body makes and also gets from foods like meat and fish. Cells store it largely as phosphocreatine, a fast-access energy reserve used to regenerate ATP — the cell's energy currency — during short bursts of demand.

What is creatine monohydrate?

Creatine monohydrate is the most-researched, most cost-effective form of creatine — the form behind essentially all of the positive studies. Vantra uses Creapure® creatine monohydrate.

What is effervescent creatine?

It's creatine monohydrate in a tablet that fizzes and fully dissolves in water — no shaker, no clumping, no chalky grit. The creatine is identical to powder; the experience is a clear drink you can take anywhere.

What is Creapure®?

Creapure® is a branded, German-made creatine monohydrate known for high purity and tight manufacturing standards.

Dosing & use

How much creatine should I take per day?

Most research uses about 5 grams of creatine monohydrate per day. Vantra delivers that as two 2.5 g effervescent tablets — Dawn and Dusk.

Do I need a loading phase?

No. A loading protocol can saturate muscle faster, but a steady daily dose reaches the same place over a few weeks. Vantra is built around a consistent 5 g a day.

When is the best time to take creatine?

Consistency matters far more than timing — take it every day so your levels stay topped up. Vantra splits the dose morning and evening to make it a habit.

Why two tablets instead of one?

A single 5 g effervescent tablet would be too large to dissolve cleanly. Splitting it into a 2.5 g Dawn and a 2.5 g Dusk tablet solves that — and turns the dose into a ritual.

Brain & body

Does creatine do anything for the brain?

Creatine has a well-established role in the brain's energy metabolism. Whether supplementing meaningfully improves thinking or memory in healthy people is still being researched and results are mixed — we won't claim it makes you smarter.

Does creatine help with muscle and strength?

Yes — alongside training, improved strength and high-intensity performance is the most established benefit of creatine monohydrate, supported by the ISSN.

Can women take creatine?

Yes. Creatine monohydrate is studied in both men and women. If you're pregnant, nursing, or have a medical condition, check with your doctor first.

Safety & side effects

Is creatine safe? What about my kidneys?

Creatine monohydrate is one of the most-studied supplements there is, and is well tolerated by healthy people at recommended doses in trials to date, with no demonstrated harm to kidney or liver function. The kidney fear is a long-standing myth from a misread marker. If you have a kidney condition, are pregnant or nursing, or take medication, check with your doctor first.

Does creatine cause hair loss?

The one small 2009 study linking creatine to a rise in the marker DHT has never been replicated, and no study has shown creatine actually causes hair loss.

Will creatine make me gain weight?

Creatine doesn't add body fat. Some notice a small early bump on the scale — water drawn into muscle cells, not fat — and many see no change. Vantra's steady 5 g daily (no loading) keeps that minimal.
